Carl Holden
01/18/1929 - 11/27/2019
Tempe, AZ
Carl Holden passed away on November 27,2019 at the age of 90. He was born in Gang, Missouri. After moving to St. Louis, he met the love of his life, Pauline, and they were married on August 5, 1950. They moved to New Jersey shortly thereafter while he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. For most of their married years they lived in Bridgeton, Missouri where Carl worked at Monsanto and then Lever Brothers as a Machinist, retiring in 1994. They celebrated 50 years of marriage before Pauline's passing on November 2, 2000. They had one child, Deborah (Tony) Raymond, and four grandchildren: Stephanie (Gary) Luttrell, Joseph Raymond, Kevin Shannon and Dana Raymond.

Carl had a passion for automobiles that started at an early age. He especially loved the 1932 Model A Ford. He built, rebuilt, purchased, traded and sold numerous vehicles and car parts throughout this life. Most times he could be found working in the garage on one of his latest projects.

He moved to Arizona in 2018 to be near his family and enjoyed taking car rides to look at the beautiful scenery and mountains nearby. The family is grateful for the loving care he received from Five Star Assisted Living and Hospice of the West during the last chapter of his life.

A private family service with Military Honors is planned at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona with final rest next to Pauline at Mount Lebanon Cemetery in Saint Ann, Missouri.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association.
