Joyce E. McFarland Bean, age 84, from Coolidge, AZ passed away early Tuesday morning, April 14, 2020, surrounded by and in the comfort of her family.
She was born in 1935 in Phoenix, AZ -- a true Arizona native.
Joyce E. McFarland Bean attended and graduated from Coolidge High School. She then went on to pursue her education at Sullins College in Bristol, Virginia. Thereafter, Joyce transferred to graduate from the University of Arizona with a B.A. in Education as a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority.
Following her graduation, Joyce E. McFarland Bean pursued her passion of traveling through Europe. Upon her return, she married and had three wonderful children. During this time as well, Joyce started her career as an elementary school teacher. Not being busy enough, Joyce was heavily involved in her children's extracurricular activities, a member of the school board, a business owner, and a cotton farmer.
She was best known for maintaining rich and enduring relationships and always bringing laughter to the lives of those around her. Whether she was playing cards, four-wheeling, boating, having social gatherings, or traveling with friends or family, she was truly the life of the party.
She is preceded in death by parents Sterling Carl McFarland and Louise McFarland.
She is survived by her sister Bonnye C. McFarland, her three children Susan O’Neill (G. Sean), Kim Lipchak (Louis), and Brock Bean (Gloria) and her nine grandchildren Kathleen, Eilish, Trevor, Savina, Taite, Mathew, Nathan, Desiree, Brenden and one great-grandchild Maiya.
Joyce E. McFarland Bean’s Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
