Donna Charlene Allen, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away peacefully on August 14, 2023 just 10 days before her 75th birthday after a 6 month battle with Colon Cancer. Donna was born on August 24, 1948 to Velvia Charlotta Gray and Harold Reed Black in Columbus, Ohio. She enjoyed family life with 8 siblings and many adventures! Donna married Danny James Allen on June 14th, 1976 in Salt Lake City, Utah where they enjoyed a water balloon fight at their reception. The couple resided in Eagle Point, Oregon for many years welcoming their children and had a whole lot of fun before moving to Mesa where their legacy grew.
Donna enjoyed learning new things, gardening, canning, ceramics, baking, reading, puzzles, ducks, and she especially enjoyed spending time with her kids, grandkids and other family! Donna had a quick wit and enjoyed playing with words, writing poetry and singing songs of all genres. She was always busy serving and helping others.
Donna was preceded in death by her son Daniel, parents, in-laws and siblings Ron, Mary, Rick, Bill, Bonnie, Ross, and Calvin. Those who remain here to celebrate her life are her husband Danny, children Marnie Googe, Beth (Paul) Dodge, Daphnie (Ryan) Goettl, Dusty (Melanie) Allen, Darra (Trevor) Bray and Devin (Aleshia) Allen, 20 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and siblings Peggy (John) Stevens, Connie (Bruce) Myers, Linda Murray, Rob (Marilyn) Black, Chris (Klea) Black, and Jeanne Black, numerous nieces & nephews and friends.
A combined celebration of life and funeral will be held on Thursday, August 24, 2023 at 10am at 1430 N Grand, Mesa with a water balloon fight to follow! In lieu of flowers, sing a fun song and make a donation to a charity of your choice.
