"Dan was a hoot. He could already make me, staff and the students he served laugh. Sometimes we were laughing at him, but mostly with him. He had a story that was relative for just about everything. Boy could he tell a story, too. He will be missed. "

"Danny and I went to Sunnyside High School together. He was sweet and funny and well liked. He will be missed. "
"Dan was an amazing man to have on campus at Pioneer. He moved seamlessly from friend to staff and then to highly respected role model. Dan was a blessing to these kids and to the people around him. His presence will be missed on this earth. It was a better place with him in it. "
"I am so happy that I was able to visit with Dan just a few months ago. He was an awesome man and touched many lives. Dan you will be greatly missed."

"Dan was such an amazing friend. When I was new to recovery back in 1999, seeing Dan at my first Vineyard Celebrate Recovery meeting was unforgettable! He had such a BIG personality and was ON FIRE for Jesus. He had an amazing heart to reach out to me and encouraged my walk with the Lord. As a single mom, he ministered to my son and even took him to “mens breakfasts” at the church on his bike (Harley). Dan continued to grow even closer to my heart in friendship and later I married his best friend! Dan was like a grandfather to my late in life child and became a caregiver for him. He learned sign language and dove into learning about Autism to better communicate and connect to my then 3 year old. Those boys are now 35 and 14, and Dan has been family in a deep and meaningful way. He is so loved and we will miss him, but know that we will see him again!"

"I met Dan around 1997 or so in his quest to seek the face of Jesus for help. Dan yielded his life to Him to the best of his ability and God blessed and honored him as Dan was becoming who God made him to be. Almost 30 years later Dan never gave up! The church is a hosptial but Celebrate Recovery is the emergency room for people who have tried everything else to fix their broken life. Jesus showed up and began that transformation for my friend Dan, me, my husband, and other close friends I have. Well done Dan, you have kept the faith. Dan has left us and I'm heartbroken for us who miss him but he is not dead, he is alive with Christ!"
