Yolanda Bravo Schoening
07/29/1946 - 04/01/2026
Mesa, AZ
Yolanda “Yolie” P. Schoening was born on July 29, 1946, in Tucson, Arizona, and passed away on April 1, 2026. This date coincided with Easter this year, a meaningful blessing that brings comfort to those who loved her. Yolie was a devoted believer in Jesus Christ, and her family finds peace in knowing this is not goodbye, but a “see you again” in heaven.
Yolie, also affectionately known to many as “Mama Bravo,” was a vibrant and social spirit. A true “social butterfly,” she was the life of the party, bringing joy, laughter, and warmth wherever she went. She had a remarkable gift for making friends and, even more beautifully, for keeping those friendships strong over the years. Her love for people was only surpassed by the deep and unwavering love she had for her family.
She is survived by her husband, Randy Schoening; her daughter, Laundy (Sherman) Unkefer, and her son, Anthony (Ariana) Nido. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, Alexa (Derrick), Sherman (Tyson), Talan, and Jilliana, as well as her beloved great-granddaughters, Victoria and Marin. She was preceded in death by her two beloved sons, Frank & Michael Bravo.
Yolie’s legacy is one of connection, kindness, and a joyful spirit that will continue to live on in all who knew and loved her. Her laughter, her warmth, and her love will never be forgotten.
A memorial service will be held on April 18, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 715 W. Southern Ave., Tempe, AZ 85282.
She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and joyfully awaited again in heaven.
