Susan Brower (Stephenson)
11/19/1955 - 02/27/2026
Mesa, AZ
Susan Stephenson Brower passed away peacefully in her home in Mesa, AZ. She was living the life- retired, sitting outside in February, walking her dog, gardening, and texting her friends in Michigan about the weather.
Sue was born and grew up in Douglas, AZ, the daughter of Robert and Dorothy Stephenson. She attended Loretto School, Douglas High School (1973), Cochise College, and the University of Arizona.
Sue spent most of her adult life in Grand Rapids, Mi, where she met her husband, Todd, who passed away in 2024. with whom she shared a love of music, pets, racing cars and collecting. Susan loved to travel, which started with her work in the religious fiction publishing industry, where her specialty was editing, her favorite country was England, and she loved working with authors.
Susan enjoyed time with family and good books. She volunteered at an animal rescue facility, and loved working with the horses, especially.
Susan came home to Arizona in the spring of 2025, and joined wholeheartedly in family activities, indoors and out, She was a fan of sports, music, and dance, attending as many events as she had family members.
We, her sister Ruth Kish, brother, Bob Stephenson (Cindy), and generations of nieces and nephews, and friends, old and new, as well as her precious puppy, Ellie, miss her so much. We're sure our parents and brother/sister-in-law, Frank and Carol Stephenson have welcomed her in heaven.
Family remembrance services were held on May 2, 2026, at the Mesa City Urn Garden, where Sue and Todd are interred.
