Effie Marie Gettings Williams, 89, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 8, 2026. Born on March 3, 1937 to Elmer and Ruth Gettings, the sixth of seven children in Bowling Green, KY. She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings.
Effie Marie’s legacy continues through her children: daughter Sherri Stevens, and sons David West and Richard Congram. She was also blessed with 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

She was known for her strong and demonstrative faith in Jesus as well as her ability to make people comfortable and feel at home. Effie Marie spent her life as a waitress, courtesy clerk, homemaker, wife, and mother. Her hobbies included anything involving the western lifestyle from movies, tv, music, art, rodeo, and horses. Later in life she enjoyed time with her cats and supporting animal and military charities.

A memorial service for Effie Marie will be held on August 15, 2026, 10:00am at La Casa De Christo Lutheran Church, 6300 E Bell Road Scottsdale, AZ 85254.
