Kathleen Ann Milner, 81, passed away in hospice care on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., with her daughter, Jennifer, and son-in-law, Jared, by her side as she took her final peaceful breath. For Kathleen, who found deep meaning in numbers and synchronicities throughout her life, the repeating 7s in the date and time of her passing held special significance. She also passed one day after her daughter Jennifer’s 55th birthday, a timing she would have viewed as deeply meaningful.
Kathleen lived a life guided by creativity, curiosity, and a deep spiritual awareness. She was an accomplished artist, author, teacher, and public speaker whose work inspired people around the world. Through her writing, teachings, workshops, and lectures, she shared her passion for healing, personal growth, and exploring the deeper connection between the mind, body, and spirit.
A gifted storyteller and lifelong learner, Kathleen had a profound love for history, especially the Tudor era of England. She beautifully wove together her fascination with the past, her artistic gifts, and her spiritual beliefs throughout her work. Above all, she was passionate about helping others discover their own paths of growth, healing, and transformation.
Kathleen embraced life with adventure and wonder. She traveled extensively throughout the world, with a particular love for England, Ireland, and Italy, where she found inspiration in the history, culture, landscapes, and people she encountered. She had a lifelong love of animals, especially horses and dogs, and was an accomplished rider who treasured the special bond she shared with horses.
Kathleen found joy in many things, including watching and listening to PBS and cheering on the Green Bay Packers.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Douglas Milner and Marion Rosamond (Roth) Milner; her brothers, Tom and Michael Milner; and her sister, Susan (Milner) Fill.
She is lovingly remembered by her son, Lee Owrey; her daughter, Jennifer (Owrey) Johnson, and son-in-law, Jared Johnson; her grandchildren, Salvatore Petruzzella, Annalise Petruzzella, Jordan Lee Owrey, and Tylor Owrey and his wife, Sadie (Larkee) Owrey; and her great-grandchildren, Callen Larkee and Braylee Owrey. She is also survived by her brother, Steve Milner, and his wife, Jill (Huber) Milner; and her sister, Maribeth Milner.
Kathleen made a tremendous effort to return to Arizona on July 4, 2024, determined to spend her final years closer to her daughter. Arizona became her final home and the place where she will be laid to rest.
Her immediate family will gather in Sedona on July 27 and 28 for an intimate Celebration of Life. Sedona was chosen for its breathtaking beauty and its reputation as a place of reflection, healing, and spiritual connection, making it a fitting location to honor Kathleen’s deeply held beliefs and the journey she shared with so many throughout her life.
Kathleen’s legacy will live on through her family, her students, her readers, and the countless lives she touched. She will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, her love of learning, her connection to animals and nature, her creativity, and her unwavering belief that every person has the ability to grow, heal, and discover greater meaning in life.
