Neoma “Joyce” Felton, 101, passed away on August 3, 2026, in Phoenix, AZ. Born on August 12, 1924, she was a lifelong Phoenician who witnessed and shared stories of the city’s transformation since its early days.
Joyce attended Garfield Elementary and graduated from Phoenix Union High School. She dedicated her life to her family and home while also working for over 30 years as a bookkeeper for the Arnold’s Pickle and Olive Company. She was a devoted member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Phoenix and later St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in Scottsdale,
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis Felton; her parents, Laura and Sumpter Mac Watkins; her daughter-in-law, Agnes Felton; and eight siblings. She is survived by her son, Lew Felton; her daughter, Becky Hickman (Mike); grandsons Luis Felton (Lindsey) and Matt Hickman (Leanna); three great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In accordance with Joyce’s wishes, no services will be held. To honor her memory, contributions may be made to the Arizona Humane Society.
