Steven Jacques, born May 24, 1974, in Arizona, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2026, after a courageous year-long battle with cancer.
Steven was raised in Arizona and lived a full and meaningful life centered on his family, his work, and the people he cared about. For the past 22 years he dedicated himself to his work at Airgas, where he served as Fleet Safety Specialist. He took great pride in his role and was committed to the safety of others and to encouraging responsible driving.
Above all, Steven was a devoted, loving, and caring husband to his wife, JaNel. He cherished their life together and showed his love in both everyday moments and steadfast support. Those closest to them knew him as a partner who put JaNel first, treated their marriage with tenderness and loyalty, and found his greatest joy in sharing his life with her.
To his nieces and nephews, Steven was known affectionately as “Uncle,” a role he embraced wholeheartedly. He enjoyed spending time with them and creating memories they will carry throughout their lives. He also enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas and spending time with family and friends.
Steven will be remembered as a kind, caring, and devoted man who was loved by the many people fortunate enough to know him. He loved his family deeply and cherished the time he shared with them.
He is survived by his wife, JaNel Jacques; his children, Dylan and Brianna; his mother Kathy Byrne-Lewis; his stepfather, Michael Lewis; His brothers, Michael Jacques (Wife Rachel Jacques) and James Lewis; his nieces and nephews, including Cody Marshall (wife Marissa Marshall), their children Jinora and Hunter Marshall, niece Alex Jacques, nephew Cruz Lewis, nephew AJ Jacques, niece Ava Jacques and niece Marley Allen ; as well as his extended family and friends, who will miss him dearly.
A celebration of Steven’s life will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at King of Glory Lutheran Church in Tempe, Arizona. 2085 E Southern Ave, Tempe, AZ. 85282
