Gerald Laverne Thompson, 88, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026 in Mesa, Arizona. He was born on July 8, 1938 in North Dakota to Elmer and Lucille Thompson.



Gerald proudly enlisted in the army following high school and, married Carolyn Rae Wilson on October 24, 1959. Together they raised their family of four children on a farm in Walhalla, North Dakota until 1967 when they decided to move to Washington State. Gerald built his career as an Elevator Service Repairman, working 35 years at Montgomery/Kone. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his family.

Gerald is survived by his beloved wife Carolyn, and their children: Gary (and Debbie) Thompson of Washington and Greg Thompson of Oregon.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Dawn, son Jerry, sister Sharon and brother Kenny.

Gerald’s legacy lives on in the lives he touched, the family he cherished, and the memories that continue to bring comfort and joy to those who knew him.
