Ralph N. Freeman was born at home in Metaline Falls, WA, on an extremely cold day, January 10, 1925. He passed away at home, in Maricopa, AZ on April 8, 2017, at the age of 92. He spent his childhood in northern Idaho, and one time rode his bike down Lookout Pass. His father’s friend told him, “He passed me on his bike and I was going 60!”

Ralph married at 17, shortly before WWII. He enlisted with the Army Air Corps, and traveled much of the US before being stationed in India. He completed his service on his 21st birthday and returned to Idaho to start a family.

Ralph loved his family, his pets, and Glacier Park, which he visited over 100 times. He built a career in the lumber industry and retired at 80. He is remembered for his kindness and sense of humor. He enjoyed playing Pinochle and was known for fearlessly outbidding opponents.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, 2 daughters, 2 sons, and 2 step daughters. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

A celebration of life and interment is being planned for June in Kalispell, Montana.
