Diana Lee Bevilacqua Procop Backstrom
09/13/1946 - 04/16/2017
Mesa, CA
Diana Lee Bevilacqua Procop Backstrom was born on September 13, 1946 in Dixon, Illinois to Virginia Powell Bevilacqua and Louis Bevilacqua Jr. Diana was the eldest sibling, and had an unbreakable bond with brothers Louie and Joe and their baby sister Nancy. Diana was the proud Mother of two daughters, Shelia Hansen and Amy Procop and a devoted grandmother to her grandchildren Blake and Chloe Hansen. Diana was the wife of Daniel Backstrom, and a friend to all. Diana Lee passed over peacefully to be with our Lord Jesus on Easter Sunday at 2pm, while at home surrounded by family and friends.

Diana brought joy, love and laughter every place she went. Loving people well came naturally to her and she did it with grace. Diana’s first job was as a lively car hop in Eagle Grove Iowa. Diana met and married her first husband Wayne John Procop and settled outside of Chicago, to raise her family. She was a tenderhearted housewife, Mother and family hostess for many memorable holidays, events and gatherings. She later moved to Arizona and excelled in a career as a recruiter, finding many people work as it was her passion to help people.

Diana was kind, loving, salt of the earth, strong, and would give the clothing off her back if someone was in need. She was beautiful inside and out, and her joyful spirit radiated positive energy no matter what obstacles stood in her way. She was a major Chicago Bears fan, loved to cook and bake, and make the most out of life with entertaining and making family a priority, cherishing the relationships and doing the best she could in any given situation.

She had a laugh that could make you giggle so hard you’d forget what you were originally laughing about. A name is only as good as what stands behind it, and the meaning of Bevilacqua, her birth given name, is exactly the testament to who she was… “A cool drink of water”. She will be dearly missed but her love lives on forever.
