Phoenix, AZ
Diane L. (Kintzele) Burda passed away peacefully April 16, 2017 in Phoenix, Arizona after losing her struggle with breast cancer.

Diane was born in Michigan City, Indiana June 6, 1949 to the late Henry (Bud) & Mildred Kintzele. Surviving are her sisters Joyce Barnes of Willow Springs, Missouri and Peggy Fusco of Venice, Florida; her daughter Sheila Lehker of Mesa, Arizona and grandsons Christopher Lehker and Andrew Lehker.

Diane worked her whole life in various organizations, by far her most cherished was that of her time working for Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary. Mackenzie’s is the largest sheltered no-kill sanctuary in the mid-west and find loving homes for abused, abandoned and neglected dogs. Diane was absolutely passionate about dogs and particularly her beloved Ruckus, a Rottweiler that claimed her heart. Diane also enjoyed her time living in the Southwest. Her heart called her to live in the Southwest to not only be closer to her daughter and grandsons but the Southwest lifestyle had always appealed to her. She lived a life just her way, with her own path, as we all should.

Diane desired no “formal” services and the family will hold a private celebration of life. She very much desired in lieu of flowers, cards, etc. a donation in her memory to Mackenzie’s Foundation - http://mackenzies.info/donate/donate-online/ or mail to Mackenzie’s Animal Sanctuary, 8935 Thompson Road, Lake Odessa, MI 48849.
