Rickie “Rick” Ray Ballard, passed away unexpectedly on June 17, 2018 in San Tan Valley, AZ at the age of 72.

Rick is survived by his wife Sherrie, his sons Johnny, Chris, Allen (Julie), stepsons John (Rich), Jared (Isabel), Michael (Autumn), 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grand children. and by his siblings Steve and Jim Clark and Cheryl Glenn of Mesa, Arizona.



Rick was born on January 24, 1946 in Mesa Arizona. Rick joined the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War where he served honorably as an Army Medic. Upon completion of his tour Rick moved home to Mesa, Arizona where he began a lifelong career working in shotcrete and construction. Rick eventually started his own shotcrete company which he ran for 14 years. Rick is remembered by his sons as a dedicated father who always found the extra time to coach his sons Pop Warner Football and Little League Baseball teams even after working long days in the Arizona sun and heat.



In his later years Rick enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved his family, home, fishing, camping, his dogs, playing a game of Mexican Train and the occasional good cigar. He is deeply missed by his many friends, family and loved ones.



All are invited to attend a celebration of his life at 10:00 am on June 30, 2018 located at Trinity Church, 2130 E University Dr, Mesa, Arizona.
